Our second catered chalet in Samoëns is the beautiful La vielle Ferme, which we use on select weeks during the Summer season. Nights in mountain huts can also be arranged if you wish to undertake some of the more challenging multi-day walks.

La vielle Ferme
La vielle Ferme is a stunning, classic Savoyard farmhouse located in the small hamlet of Vallon d'en Haut, just outside the village of Samoëns. It has been beautifully renovated - using the original stone and timber - and turned into luxurious and spacious accommodation.

The ground floor of the main house consists of a huge double height living area with a stunning central fireplace and a spacious dinning area. There is then two luxurious en-suite double / twin bedrooms, one of which has it's own private balcony, looking out across the valley. Upstairs there is a further two twin rooms, plus a single room, with two bathrooms and a completely separate living area to relax.

If needed, there is then further accommodation available in a completely separate and spacious three bedroom appartment and the 'Mazot' outbuilding, which is a self-contained studio for up to three people. Just behind the Mazot, there is also a hot tub for resting weary bodies after a day in the mountains.

In all, La vielle Ferme can accommodate up to 18 guests very comfortably. You can find out more about La vielle Ferme here.

Cuisine
Your hosts are the owners, Anne and Mitch, who lovingly renovated La vielle Ferme over many years. Our catered, self-guided walking holidays are full board. A one week holiday includes a hearty breakfast each day. We then lay out a range of options for people to make up their own packed lunches on walk days.

You will then find tea and cakes waiting for you on your return to the chalet and a three course evening meal with wine and beer will then be served on all but one evening, giving you the chance to try out some local Savoyard specialities in one of the local restaurants.
