These 3 Peaks ( Grading: 3 Peaks ) graded holidays are designed to be challenging for fit and healthy people, with some mountain walking experience and a good head for heights, but they are not as strenuous as our 4 Peaks graded one week treks and there is the luxury of a rest day mid-way through the week.

On the longest day, expect to be on the mountain for up to seven to nine hours, with up to 1,200 metres (4,000ft) of vertical ascent. Certain walks may involve some scrambling and walking in difficult terrain (scree, blocks, snowfields, etc), including passages equipped with chains and cables. You need to be fit and a fairly regular walker, with a reasonably good head for heights.

All meals and bedding are provided on the trek so the weight of your rucksack shouldn’t be much more than on a one-day trek. We just recommend that you also bring a sheet or sleeping bag liner, and some spare clothing.

Our hybrid treks are guided by Bruno, our qualified guide (Accompagnateur en Montagne). A typical group size is six to eight guests and one guide.

Your guide is there to help you access the most beautiful parts of the region and to provide an experienced pair of hands, keeping you safe and providing an insight into the geology and history of this wonderful area, as well as a better understanding of the local alpine flora and fauna (and an increased chance of spotting it!). Using a telescope, we can observe Chamois and Ibex close up without disturbing these sensitive animals.

When back in the village our guides are also on hand during the evening, along with our resident hosts, to discuss the walks with the group and to provide support, advice and a friendly face throughout. They will also record your holiday through a wide selection of photos which are then presented as a slideshow during the holiday and which are also published in our Guest Gallery for friends and family to visit.
