Our base for the duration of our guided walking holidays in the Pyrenees is 'Can Llouquette'. Pronounced 'can yo-ket', the name is Catalan for 'brooding hen'. The house is a wonderful old fruit farm, full of charm and character, which has been stylishly renovated, making it an ideal place to return to after a day on the mountain.

Can Llouquette is a converted fruit farm set in the foothills of Mount Canigou and is about a mile outside the village of Montferrer in the Vallespir valley. It is a haven of peace and tranquillity, set in 11 acres of terraced land. It also has a swimming pool within the grounds. Guest accommodation is based on sharing either the main house or the gîte.

The Main House - is spacious and fully equipped. It has been renovated sympathetically and to a high standard. There is one twin guest bedroom on the top floor and another twin room on the ground floor, which is a self contained studio. It also has two living rooms, a traditional fireplace and large kitchen/dinning room, as well as a terrace over-looking the pool.

The Gîte - is situated next to the main house. It has been renovated into light and friendly accommodation, with two twin bedrooms, both en-suite. It also has a fully equipped living room/kitchen and an east-facing terrace, which is sunny from early in the morning and has lovely views down the valley. Guests staying in the gîte can of course also use the facilities in the house.

Catering - We all eat together in the main house and our fully catered holidays include breakfast on each day of your stay, plus an evening meal on all but one night. Packed lunches are also provided on walk days. A typical evening meal would be a barbecue, with fresh salads and accompanied by ample dinner table wine and beer, as well as a starter and dessert, eaten on the terrace. Of course a vegetarian option is always available as well.
