These holidays are graded 2 Peaks ( Grading: 2 Peaks ) in difficulty and are designed to be reasonably challenging for fit and healthy people with experience of mountain walking.

You can expect to be walking for between five and seven hours each day, ascending up to 900 vertical meters (3,000ft), which is the equivalent to climbing Snowdon via the Miner's Track. This will generally involve walking on well trodden paths, although there may be some 'off-piste', with a very limited amount of exposure to heights. You should be used to walking in mountainous terrain.

Note that the pace is always leisurely and we stop regularly to admire the wonderful surroundings. Within reasonable limits the pace will be adjusted to suit everyone within the group.

The Wilder Kaiser
The horizon is dominated by the jagged limestone peaks of the Wilder Kaiser, which form a dramatic backdrop to most of our walks. The Kitzbüheler Horn also stands out at just under 2,000 metres, the summit of which offers a stiff challenge, although there is always the option of using the gondola to lessen the ascent or descent, depending on the ability of the group.

Making sure everyone's happy
In the unlikely event that any guests prove to be significantly less fit and able than the majority of the group, we reserve the right to offer self-guided walks on two of the days. This will ensure that everyone gets at least two challenging days on the mountain.
