Samoëns is one of five villages that form the Grand Massif ski area, which offers 265 kilometres of pistes to suit all abilities, as well as excellent terrain for off-piste skiing and boarding.

With a maximum altitude of 2,480 metres the Grand Massif is known for its reliable snow cover, as well as its lack of lift queues. The pistes are suitable for all levels of skier and boarder from the novice to the expert with ample off-piste skiing also available for the experts.

There is also the classic picturesque 14km Cascades run which passes the Lac de Gers, a popular place to rest and enjoy a meal while admiring the stunning scenery.

As well as having top class runs and abundant off-piste options, the Flaine area also offers some of the best panoramic views of the Mont Blanc massif, in the adjacent Chamonix valley. You can find our more about the Grand Massif here and you can download a Grand Massif piste map here.

Snowshoeing
You also have the option of joining Gustav, our resident walking guide, and our other snowshoeing guests for one or more days of snowshoeing (40 Euros extra per day, paid locally). Find out more about snowshoeing here.
