For maximum comfort, we recommend guests bring their own bikes and ensure they are in good working order prior to arriving. We have workshop facilities at the chalet and will support you in making sure your bike stays in good shape throughout your stay with us.

Bike rentals
We also have a wide selection of bikes available to rent at various qualities and prices. The range available include GT i-Drive, Kona Dawgs, Scott Reflex, Scott Nitrous and Scott Genius. Prices vary from around £15 per day, to £40 per day and include helmets. On request we will provisionally reserve a bike on your behalf and then accompany you to the shop for fitting, where you will pay locally. Contact us for more details.

Insurance
Insurance for your bike, while abroad and during transit, is available via the CTC, the U.K's national cycling organisation. You can contact them on cycling@ctc.org or by visiting www.ctc.org.uk

Travelling with your bike
Travelling with a bike is simple. Airlines allow you to travel with your bike if it is packaged up. EasyJet charge a £20.00 flat fee per bike, which must be booked along with the flight. British Airways include the bike within your weight allowance. There may be an additional charge for excess baggage. bmibaby also fly to Geneva from a number of U.K airports.

Packaging you bike for travel
You should transport your bike in a bike bag or packaged in cardboard. You can pick-up used bike boxes from bike retailers, which they are usually happy to give away. Also ask for the plastic brace which is used to keep the forks apart while the wheel is removed during transit.

Simply remove the bike pedals and handle bars, strapping them to the forks (zip ties are very handy for this). Remove the wheels, deflate the tyres and place in the box, using packing tape and some padding to avoid parts rubbing. Clearly label your bike. When checking in you will have to put the bike through as oversized luggage and it will have to be collected from the oversized luggage point.

We will store the bike packaging during your stay and will supply packing tape for the return journey.
